EVENTS: GPP2ADRION Project Convenes in Crete, Forges New Connections at EUSAIR Forum
The second in-person meeting of the GPP2ADRION project, “Fostering the Adoption and Implementation of GPP Procedures to Promote a Transition Towards a Circular Economy,” recently took place in Crete on May 5th, 2025. Hosted at the Pilot Beach Hotel in Georgioupolis, the meeting was a crucial step in advancing the project’s goals.
The timing was strategically chosen to align with the 10th EUSAIR Forum. This offered a unique opportunity for project partners to not only deepen internal coordination but also to leverage networking and exchange opportunities with other initiatives active in the Adriatic-Ionian region. During the forum’s event, “Shaping the Future of the Adriatic-Ionian Region: Cooperation, Innovation and Sustainability,” the GPP2ADRION project was presented to a wider audience, gaining visibility and setting the stage for future collaborations.
The meeting’s agenda was twofold. First, it served as a platform to review the progress made during the initial six months of implementation. Partners shared updates, discussed challenges, and established clear deadlines for upcoming deliverables. Second, it was an opportunity to coordinate the next phase of activities. By clarifying roles, responsibilities, and timelines, the team aligned on expectations for the next six-month period, ensuring a smooth and coordinated workflow.
By participating in both the project meeting and the EUSAIR Forum, the partnership successfully enhanced its internal coordination while also gaining significant visibility and strategic alignment with broader regional goals. The event provided a valuable chance to strengthen collaboration, gather input from external stakeholders, and position the project within a wider community committed to sustainability, innovation, and transnational cooperation.
