EVENTS: GPP2ADRION presented at the University of Padua’s Master in Strategic Environmental Management

GPP2ADRION was recently featured as a practical case study during a lecture held within the Master’s Programme in Strategic Environmental Management at the University of Padua. The session provided an opportunity to bring the principles and real-world applications of Green Public Procurement directly into an academic environment, fostering dialogue between the project’s experience and future environmental professionals.

During the lecture, students were introduced to the role of GPP as a strategic lever for supporting the green transition of public administrations. The presentation highlighted how the GPP2ADRION project contributes to strengthening institutional capacities, promoting sustainable purchasing practices, and encouraging policy alignment across the ADRION region.

Particular attention was given to the practical dimension of GPP implementation. Through the GPP2ADRION case study, participants explored key challenges commonly faced by public authorities as well as the opportunities generated by a more systematic integration of green criteria into procurement processes.

The interactive exchange with students confirmed the strong interest of emerging professionals in tools and methodologies that can make sustainability operational within public governance. Initiatives like this contribute to building a shared culture of responsible procurement and to equipping future practitioners with the knowledge required to support Europe’s environmental and climate objectives.

GPP2ADRION will continue promoting knowledge sharing and capacity-building activities to further mainstream Green Public Procurement across the programme area.
